Just your average nerd.
My life consists of most things geek-related, but I'm slightly obsessed with the human body and the way it moves.
Let's be best friends, okay?
I'm Lyn and this is my personal blog. Hi.
There has been a pair of shoes that I’ve been lusting over for the past couple of years. I wanted them as soon as I saw them, but, given that I had just moved to San Francisco at the time and cost of living was triple than what I was used to, spending a shitload on a pair of shoes wasn’t at all a logical move for me. After a few months of settling in and finding work, I was ready to buy - only to find that none of the stores in California still carried them in my size. (I know I could easily have bought them online, but I have this rule that anything super expensive should only be bought in person.)
Anyway, I kept up the search because when I want something, I don’t stop ‘til I get it. Somebody finally tipped me off earlier this week that someone was selling their pair. In New Zealand. At this point, desperation already kicked in and I was willing to declare my online rule null and void. I e-mailed the seller for more details, photos, etc, etc. She replied yesterday, saying that they’d only been worn once and are in great condition. I’m excited because I’m thinking, “Holy shit. This is it. This is the moment I’ve been waiting for, for so long,” and I click to view the pictures she’d attached.
I was expecting these:
And I see these:
I am so, so sad. And now I must end Spring break slightly heartbroken. Over a pair of shoes.
When I can’t sleep, I get creative/innovative. I actually have room to stack another shoe rack in there now.
